白蹄乌（báitíwū），顾名思义，通体黑毛，四蹄雪白。有专家认为，白蹄二字来源于突厥语bota，意为幼马或幼骆驼，是少汗之意。</p><p style="white-space: normal;margin: 0px;padding: 0px;box-sizing: border-box;"> 白蹄乌马，为李世民平定薛仁杲（gǎo）时所乘。公元618年，唐军初占关中，立足不稳。割据兰州、天水一带的薛举、薛仁杲父子便大举进攻，与唐军争夺关中。相峙两月之后，李世民看准战机，在浅水塬以少量兵力正面牵制诱敌，亲率主力直捣敌后，他骑着白蹄乌马，只带了数名精锐骑兵，率先杀入敌阵，使薛军阵容大乱溃退。李世民趁机追击，催动白蹄乌身先士卒，衔尾猛追，一昼夜奔驰200余里，迫使薛仁杲投降。浅水塬大战奠定了唐王朝立足关陇的政治经济基础。</p></section><section 昭陵六骏，雕刻了唐太宗纵横驰骋的战马雄姿：平宋金刚时所乘的特勒骠，平窦建德时所骑的青骓，平王世充、窦建德时所乘的什伐赤，平王世充时所乘飒露紫，平刘黑闼时所乘的拳毛騧，平薛仁杲时所骑的白蹄乌。贞观十年(公元636年)，李世民诏令大画家阎立本先画出六骏图形，后由石刻家阎立德依画形雕刻于华山石上。李世民亲自作诗6首(即六马赞)，赞扬每匹马的风采，并命大书法家欧阳询抄录下来刻在六骏旁边。石雕线条简洁有力，造型栩栩如生，姿态神情各异，寓造型艺术、雕刻技巧、书法、历史故事于一体，充分显示了我国唐代雕刻艺术的成就，是极其珍贵的文物。</p><p
