那年，我十二岁。那只鸭子，才四个月，也相当于少年。它是只小母鸭，是妹妹的宠物，而我只希望它快快长大，我想吃它的蛋。可是它才四个月，还不到二斤重，还没谈过恋爱，还不会生蛋。当然，蛋会生的，时日不会太遥远，家禽的发育、成熟和奉献，从来就不曾突破芸芸人类的耐心。<o:p></o:p></span></p><p style="text-indent: 0em;margin-bottom: 妹妹为小母鸭取名“小红”，简直是个如花似玉玲玲珑珑的女娃名字。我却不以为然，甚至感到很荒诞。它不过是只毛色褐色普普通通的水乡麻鸭。我一直想不通禽类雌的不如雄的漂亮。如果从审美选择，我更愿意养一只公鸭，长大后绿头如翠，鸭掌殷红，羽毛斑斓，体型雄阔，鸣声高亢，何其威风？只是食量太大，太费麦粒和稻谷——又不会生蛋！<o:p></o:p></span></p><p style="text-indent: 是的，那是个贫瘠的时代，人们都碌碌饥肠，哪有多余的谷物来饲喂家禽，农家的鸭子都是自立更生，凭藉本能和天赋觅食裹腹，而一天天长大，该长肉长肉，该生蛋生蛋。<o:p></o:p></span></p><p style="text-indent: 0em;margin-bottom: 8px;line-height: 2em;margin-left: 8px;margin-right: 8px;"><span style="font-family: 宋体;font-size: 17px;color: rgb(0, 0, 0);"> 其实那年春天我家是逮了一雄一雌两只鸭苗的，是我在院里拍皮球玩得性起，不小心给踩扁了一只。小母鸭硕果仅存，变得十分乖觉，机警又聪明。它却喜欢跟在河浜里成熟的公鸭母鸭后面，那些大鸭子在水中扎猛子，东搅西啄的，它跟在身后拾人牙慧、捡捡漏就可以了。它有时候还与鸡婆们做伴，鸡是扒拉泥土和草皮的高手，鸡爪飞扬中，它也会不失时机地吞下几只蹦出来的土鳖虫和一两条肥硕的蚯蚓，这些可是蛋白质大大的活食哟！因此，我家的小母鸭因为肚皮总有着落似乎比同龄的鸭子出落得鲜润和神气，伶伶俐俐，倒真像个十一二岁开始抽条发育的小姑娘了！<o:p></o:p></span></p><p style="text-indent: 0em;margin-bottom: 8px;line-height: 2em;margin-left: 8px;margin-right: 8px;"><span style="font-family: 宋体;font-size: 17px;color: rgb(0, 0, 0);"> 不知什么时候开始，我家的小母鸭把本生产队郑屠夫家的天井拓展为觅食地点。郑屠不杀猪，只杀牛，宰牛剥皮剔肉都在天井的砖地上进行，难免会飞溅出一些骨肉屑屑，那对一只虽是杂食动物却偏好荤腥的鸭子是多么大的诱惑！可是去那儿觅食风险太大了，郑屠家院子里有狼狗，而郑屠也是一个不甚讲情理脾气暴躁的主儿，如果被里面的狗叼住或是被人薅住，后果将不堪设想！郑屠家宰牛都是关上大门的，这天上午小母鸭照例从猫洞里钻进院子，正在瞅空子吞下一两口骨肉屑屑，那条狼狗从屋里闪电似地窜出来，一下子扑住了它，郑屠顺手接过去，瞄准脖子就要砍。千钧一发之际，小母鸭猛然缩头，半截鸭嘴连同舌头被砍断，血水溅了郑屠一脸，趁人狗分神之际扑扇着翅膀奋力挣脱，钻出猫洞逃了出去。<o:p></o:p></span></p><p style="text-indent: 0em;margin-bottom: 8px;line-height: 2em;margin-left: 8px;margin-right: 8px;"><span style="font-family: 宋体;font-size: 17px;color: rgb(0, 0, 0);"> 忍着断喙折舌巨痛，小母鸭狂奔到家倒在母亲脚下咽了气。它至死都没有让郑屠吃到它的肉。母亲含着泪收掇了它，中午放学后我和妹妹发现端在饭桌正中央的那盆鸭子，香味四溢。妹妹大哭了一场，怎么也不肯下筷子。我却没心没肺地饱啖了一顿。虽如此，小母鸭的惨死还是给我种下了仇恨，不久郑屠的小儿子跟我练摔跤时，我下手凶狠，连摔他三个跟头，以至于磕断了一颗大门牙！<o:p></o:p></span></p><section
