15px;">何园与个园，可谓扬州私家园林之双子星座。两者都是4A级旅游风景区，全国首批20家重点公园，中国十大最美园子，全国重点文物保护单位，为清代中后期扬州园林的代表作，与扬州深厚的历史文化底蕴和园主浓郁的艺术审美情趣息息相关。</span></span></p><section style="text-align: center;" 15px;">何园始建于清同治元年（1862），旧址为清乾隆年间“双槐园”；清光绪九年（1883），湖北汉黄德道台兼汉江关监督何芷舠致仕赴扬，购得“双槐园”和“片石山房”，历时13年扩建成私家园林“寄啸山庄”，后俗称“何园”。“寄啸山庄”园名，取意于陶渊明“倚南窗以寄傲，登东皋以舒啸”，可见官宦雅仕何先生之学识与才情。</span></span></p><section 15px;">第一个“天下第一”，是“水心亭”。位于西园水池中央形似飞鸟的水心亭，四周被池水和回廊所环绕，与楼台、假山、树木、花草相映衬，亭顶绘制精美彩画，亭柱镌刻精妙楹联，为园主家人观赏戏曲歌舞的戏台；作为中国园林仅有的水中戏亭，借助水面与走廊的回声，以增强音响的共鸣，提升观赏的效果。</span></span></p><section style="text-align: center;" 15px;">何园之所以能成为晚清园林的翘楚，与园主何芷舠身世、素质与品位密不可分。何芷舠（1835—1908年）家族是五代才俊的翰林世家，进士身份，官至二品，为人正直，学识渊博；他虽然具有深厚的传统儒道思想，但却紧跟难得的“西学中用”思潮，而且他年近古稀还进军上海滩投资兴业，致力将后辈培养成教科文卫商人才；更重要的是，他不仅在造园上主导策划设计，还亲自书写“寄啸山庄”园匾，而且秉持超前意识、创新精神和审美理念，从而很好地契合了园林界“三分工匠、七分主人”的训言。</span></span></p><section
