sans-serif;">谢谠(1512-1569)，字献忠，号海门，1512年出生在浙江上虞小越镇。明嘉靖甲辰科(公元1544年)进士，授江苏泰兴县令，时年三十有二，族人乡亲都纷纷前来道喜，按说这事该高兴才是，可谢谠却愁眉不展。因为泰兴这里襟江带海，地理环境特殊，乃南北交汇之地，民风彪悍，谢谠担心，他会与诸多前任一样，难以善终。果不其然，他到泰兴任职不久，就辞官返了乡，倒不是泰兴民众不拥护他，而是他办事太过直率，得罪了不少同僚，又不善变通，同时也因他骨子里对故乡山水的欢喜与依恋，故而辞官还乡。</span><span 16px;">光绪《上虞县志》载：“泰兴，维扬严邑也，宰其地者多不得善去，谠筑来鹤亭，建柴墟公馆，乐与贤士大夫游。未及考，亦以墨归家。”谢谠回到家乡上虞后，过起深居简出的隐士生活。“傍盖湖，筑白鸥庄于荷叶山中。朝夕惟读书著述吟咏为事，间为乐府，含杯自放，不入城市者二十余年。不问生人产，以故家中落，至卒不能成殓。”这一记述表明，他的好些前任在泰兴为官的时间都不是很长，且结局也都不是很好。他本有一种士大夫的情怀，是个性情中人，乐于墨客骚人交往。据传，他任泰兴县令时，有人赠送其一鹤，数日后，又有一鹤自西北而来，“相与翱翔，弥日不去”，谢谠十分高兴，遂在县署西建一小亭，额曰：“来鹤亭”，吴与点为记。举人周崇儒作《来鹤亭为邑侯谢公赋》，诗曰：“茂对春风午坐深，晖晖晴日转堂阴；飞来碧落一声鹤，唤起瑶台三弄情。万里暂停连海翮，九皋应播唳天音；主人信有赵公操，来伴成都月底吟。”谢谠在泰兴曾“</span></span><span 16px;">成、祁彪佳等约四十人，组成越中曲派。其中晚明时期属于上虞籍的戏曲作家有谢谠、车任远、朱期、赵于礼等人，他们大部分出自官宦世家，受家庭氛围熏陶，有相当的文化背景和创作基础，具有一定的群体特征，吕天成明确指出“上虞有曲派”，其中以谢谠、车任远最为有名。谢谠著有《四喜记传奇》。全剧共42出，敷写宋郊、宋祁兄弟俩俱臻贵显事。剧本以宋祁与宫女郑琼英、妓女董青霞的婚姻事，为主要线索，中间夹叙了宋郊因以竹桥渡蚁、中状元以及文彦博镇压贝州王则起义等情节。剧名“四喜”取自“久旱逢甘雨，他乡遇故</span><span 谢谠晚岁，邑令以宾礼敦请，始一二至。嘉靖四十三年，吏部尚书李春芳聘请徐渭赴京作幕僚，谢谠有诗《送徐天池入京》赠别，谢谠认为徐渭此次入京定能施展才华，建立功业，寄以厚望。徐渭亦依原韵作《答谢泰兴海门》以谢。谢谠最终因为人坦荡，不愿与污吏为伍再入官场，又不善营生，以故家道中落，至卒不能成殓。所以泰兴人谈起这个曾为泰兴县令的谢谠时，在敬佩其为官清廉、礼贤下士、襟怀坦荡的人品和横溢才华的同时，也不免为其个人的悲剧而扼腕叹息。</span></span></p><p
